Lin Dunbrack, Founder, Social Artist

Lin Dunbrack, assemblage artist, and hospice advocate is the founding partner of The Tapestry Initiative, a transformational media company, whose focus is in creating educational and cultural opportunities related to the exploration of life, death, change and transformation in self, culture and nature

Through a focused inquiry into the ways that death and the process of dying impacts the mind, body and spirit of individuals and their families as well as the culture at large.   The Tapestry Initiative seeks to identify and work with the transformational opportunities inherent in this universal transition.

As a spiritual practitioner, lay chaplain, bereavement support group facilitator and direct service hospice volunteer, Lin has been continuously inspired by the lessons of grief and loss as they point to the ways that compassion can be liberated from fear by facing into the opportunities and challenges that these passages often hold if supported openly.

As an artist using the loom as a symbol of the mystery Lin and her initiative are weaving threads related to the spiritual wisdom of impermanence as a mediation on living and include frameworks which consider prevailing psychological developmental levels and worldviews

The Tapestry Initiative is creating programs and media projects that synthesize these perspectives in new forms. They are designed with the intention of encouraging a deeper reflective capacity that is a first step in transforming the way we individually and culturally view living and dying right now.

Lin is currently the executive producer of The Fourth Moment, a feature length hybrid film that dramatically follows the journey of a man facing loss, death and the possibilities of liberation.
